Assuming a 12 game schedule, it would be more like 7 division games, 1-2 conference games on top of that, then your regularly scheduled cream puffs/non-conference rivals.

True. Would you shorten the season by a game since a quarter of your teams will be in a conference playoff at the end of the year? Because if you do, that would probably piss people off. And, if you don't, it seems a little unfair for teams to have to play 14 games to get to a bowl game whilst others play only 11 or 12.

apparently the Pac 12 commissioner today said they're not done expanding and that he expects more realignment in football. So some of this stuff may actually happen.

If they went to 16 teams they could always break up into 4 four team divisions with extra semifinal games every year which would equal a bunch more money. Because with 2 eight team divisions it's really hard to fit in that many games against out of conference tams. If you play everyone in your division that's 7 games right there then if you play half the other division teams every team that goes to 11 total games.

If you go to 4 divisions that's 3 divisional games and then play 2 teams from each of the other conference that's 6 games with a total of 9 conference games every year.

Granted it would be a nightmare in deciding which teams are going to be in each of the divisions.

I like this, if it goes to 16 (SEC).

Add Mizzou, aTm, OK, OK St.

NW: Arkansas, Mizzou, OK, OK St.
SW: LSU, OM, MSU, aTm
Mid: Bama, Auburn, Tenn, Kentucky
East: Georgia, USC, Vandy, Florida

Play 3 games in division, and 4-5 of the others, you could even lock 1 rival across divisions.

Good Lord. If you added those 4 teams, you'd have half the top 25 in one conference. And, really, the best division would be the NW, this year at least, with the top team and 3 of the 4 teams conceivablyin the top 10. And two teams having played in BCS bowls last year. Good night.

Who would the Pac12 add- they'd probably want Boise St but they just moved-San Diego St is weak and doesn't add viewers- Air Force? BYU?

They tried for Texas and were rejected, I think.

I think Texas might be just a little more agreeable to joining the Pac-12 if they were currently in a 6 team Big 12 with Tech, KSU, K-State, Baylor, and ISU.

The A&M to the SEC rumors sparked back up today. Saying as early as 2012, but more likely 2013 and that a formal invitation is "being drafted". No word on further expansion, but all these rumors are from the A&M side so that's not surprising.
