a great war has been brewing between the "sabremetricians" and the "old school scouts" on these imaginary, internet lands. as each day passes a new member chooses his or her allegiance. will you die by the pen or by the eye? these are the questions one must ask themselves as they enter the....

i agree with dill to an extent...
i wouldn't say the quality of posts are bad...partially, 'cause i dont know how to judge quality of posts necessarily...
but dils right, the more people on this board (which i want) the more views yer gonna have...thats where its up to the mods (unlike CT) to keep things friendly (how many times have we heard that?) and flowing well. i think they do a good job.

I am not saying, the quality of posts are bad. I am saying its reduced. Before, I used to read EVERY posts in BT. Nowadays, there are tons I just skim through. Its not because I dont have time.Jocephus wrote:i agree with dill to an extent...

I do agree Mods are doing a good job. Its very tough and you cant make everyone happy. They are doing their best. But unfortunately, sometimes best aren't enough.

IMO this isn't a "war" between stats vs scouts. It more of a "war" between:
- VORP vs batting avg
- ERA+ vs Wins
- "I love player X and he's producing" vs "Player X's peripherals concern me and I don't think he will keep producing like this".
Perhaps I'm simplifying things too much.

i guess im the only one that likes the way the forum is going
i think its great there is lots of "smart" baseball talk, it creates a lot of good discussion and i know i have learned a lot. i also think there is a place for the less serious threads too, like my stupid Arod hypothetical poll. i think there is a good mix right now.
