1) He can decently play both 2B and SS.
2) He's a switch hitter.
3) He has actually been a decent PH in clutch situations, can pinch run, get on base coming off the bench, and doesn't strike out as much.
I'm not disagreeing with you in that Preston deserves a spot much more than Miles considering Preston's power and our need for a RH bat. But those are some reasons I would give you if I disagreed. Playing a little Devil's Advocate I guess.

I'll put a challenge to GRB: give me three good reasons Aaron Miles deserves a spot on this team more than Preston Wilson, who is getting undeserved tags like "Roger Cedeno."
We have plenty of backup outfielders on the ML roster but only one player to back up Eckstein & Kennedy.
Wilson has 13 strikeouts in 35 AB. Miles is outslugging him .400 to .286. Miles' OBP is .409 compared to Wilson's .222. Miles' OPS is .809 compared to Wilson's .508.
Miles would come in handy during a hostage crisis.

We already voted on getting rid of Snayke. I guess people wanted to keep him on here.TimmyG wrote:GatewaySnayke-

1. He's a switch-hitterGatewaySnayke wrote:Wrong.BenNX74205 wrote:PS: Miles should stay.

2. He can play SS and 2B adequately as a substitute
3. He tied a game against Lidge last year, and won a game against Lidge last year the very next day. Without that, we are not World Champions.
I don't have a problem with Miles or Wilson. He's a back-up middle infielder and does an adequate job. What has he done to get himself off this team? Especially before guys like Skip?
EDIT:
I like the way you think, sir.TimmyG wrote: 1) He can decently play both 2B and SS.

No, you aren't. Everything he threw in his first start was high in the zone. There are not many teams he could get by with that on.TimmyG wrote:Randy Keisler.
Taguchi hasn't been completely terrible (Although he has been pretty bad) he just needs to stay on the bench as a defensive replacement, pinch runner, or pinch hitter vs. Billy Wagner.
Wilson strikes out a lot and has some pretty bad plays in the field, but he's basically a poor man's Juan Encarnacion. Juan is hurt, so his back up is playing. I can live with it.
Schumaker hasn't looked good in his PH so far, but I think he just needs to keep the role that I talked about with Taguchi. Just a defensive replacement, pinch runner, or a pinch hitter early in games. Maybe some spot starts in CF.
Miles has done a good job as a back up. I have no problem with him in that role. But he shouldn't be starting as much as he has. He needs to stay a bench player.
Thompson just needs to get his head on straight. He had a great spring, but probably had too much pressure put on him when he was made the 8th inning guy. But I think in a middle relief role he will be fine.
Hancock just needs to stay in the mop up role and only be used in a blow out. He's nothing special either way. Not very good, but nothing terrible. Just use him when you need a bunch of innings (like when Reyes starts...)
Which leaves Randy Keisler. He's a AAAA pitcher. The only reason he didn't get rocked is because it was the Pirates, and they were having a bad game. He threw up fat pitch after fat pitch. He just isn't any good.
Which is why I want Hawksworth called up. I know, I know, he hasn't started above AA or whatever before this year. But when the ace of your staff goes down, you have to take some risks. At the very least, he'd get a few major league starts under his belt for him to build on for next year. It's not like he'd be any worse than Keisler.
But Keisler just doesn't cut it for me. Maybe I'm alone on this one though.

He can play SS, he doesn't K much, and he almost makes Eck look normal-sized. (2nd and 3rd reasons are partly in jest).GatewaySnayke wrote:Wrong.BenNX74205 wrote:PS: Miles should stay.
