There's one thing we know about Lou; they have to earn the spot! No more sucky veterans being run out there for the sake of loyalty (I'm looking at you Dusty)!!!

So what does the Cubs' rotation look like b/w Zambrano and Miller?

Just curious, was there anything you didn't like about Baker during his first spring training? I don't remember an instant dislike from even the most ardent Cub fans. Seemed like an accumulated dislike.

Honestly, I didn't know much about Baker before he was hired (nothing more than what I'd heard--I hadn't seen him in action too much). I do know that there were many people that weren't sold on him even though he was coming off of a WS trip (albeit unsuccessful).

My disdain for him grew throughout the seasons. Watching him make wrong decisions and play ineffective players while more deserving people sat... It was frustrating.

Like I mentioned in another thread, he looked like a genius for much of 2003 because he had a lights out starting staff to play with...

Yup. The organization has clearly turned a corner. The emphasis is now on running sucky veterans out there who haven't earned their loyalty (Marquis). :)
