There aren't many guys that can hit a 97 mph two-seamer. Good lord Dennis Dove might be the savior of our bullpen.

I actually agree with the organization's emphasis on groundball pitchers, but it's always been strange to me to see most Cards starters and relievers topping out at 90-93 when there are teams like the White Sox that have multiple relievers who can come close to 100. All I can say is hooray for speed! Bring on Dove. With Kinney out, I'd love to see a reliever in the 8th that can get a strikeout when needed.
Heh it's always interesting comparing this to the Cubs. Last year alone the following guys hit 97:

Carlos Zambrano
Kerry Wood
Carlos Marmol
Angel Guzman
Roberto Novoa
David Aardsma

Ryan Dempster, Bob Howry, Michael Wuertz, Scott Williamson, and Will Ohman could hit 95, 96. Even Rich Hill hit 94 a few times, iirc. It just goes to show that a fastball means little. Granted, this guy is throwing a mid 90s two seam. On one hand I doubt there's a lot of movement. On the other hand, Antonio Alfonseca got his 2 seam in the mid 90s back in his day. He wasn't great, but he had a good little run there.
