The one/two punch of Johnson and Schilling with the 2001 Diamondbacks was something special. They finished 1/2 in the NL with an ERA+ (184/154), Strikeouts (372/293), Innings Pitched (256.7/249.7), and both were 20+ game winners... that was the year Morris won 22 and fought tooth and nail with Schilling in games 1 and 5 of the NLDS.

The 1944 Cards were awesome.
The average #1 starter has about a 120 ERA+. So...
Code: Select all
+----------------+-------+------+
| Pitcher | IP | ERA+ |
+----------------+-------+------+
| Mort Cooper | 252.3 | 144 |
| Max Lanier | 224.3 | 134 |
| Ted Wilks | 207.6 | 134 |
| Harry Brecheen | 189.3 | 124 |
| Red Munger | 121.0 | 264 |
+----------------+-------+------+
| Total | 994.2 | 143 |
