That and she threw a hissy fit at Johnson when he went crazy in the 8th or whatever.
They mentioned "The Faction" on the game broadcast

Was at Roger Dean for the game today, and I was actually standing a few rows below this one loud-mouthed woman talking about it, saying on the phone to someone: "It's a huge success! Way to go!" and talking about how she flagged down Frank Cusumano for an interview and told them to talk about it, or something, and then she plugged the same website people have been talking about in this thread. She was really quite obnoxious about it for almost the entire game. Saw the banner fly and I doubted myself if it actually was flown by the same group.

Personally, I'd like to see you give this board more credit than that. While the strong majority of posters here are probably pro-TLR, most of them are also pretty open minded and are pretty civil debaters. And in addition to them, there are also some posters around here who see both sides of TLR, and a few LaRussa detractors, too.GatewaySnayke wrote:No.
This seems to be a very pro-La Russa board, so I've never really discussed at length my issues with him to avoid people giving me 25 excuses as to why Tony did something and how I'm wrong and how he is right because he's won 2,000+ games.
If you don't feel like you can defend your position, that's one thing -- but if the board can't tolerate a conversation about manager styles, then it's not the board I thought.

I'm a LaRussa fan, but I think he makes bonehead moves and overmanages games. He also has too much pride for his own good, imo. But I agree with steve about this forum. If you recall a lot of people were bashing TLR for his dispute with Rolen (though an equal amount were bashing Rolen) saying that he should have been the better person about the whole ordeal. I think this forum does quite well handling criticisms to just about everyone so long as the reasoning behind them is something substantiated. And that word substantiated is really the difference between here and Card's Talk. You can debate whatever you want, but the only discussions that will carry any weight here are the ones where you can actually reason that line of thinking.GatewaySnayke wrote:No.

I don't think TLR, Walt or even Fredbird gets a free pass on these boards. There is plenty of second-guessing from very knowledgable people here. Absent are the ludicrous extreme positions found at CT and a few other places that make a strong case for experimental lobotomies.GatewaySnayke wrote:No.
