KISS Rocker Gene Simmons Hospitalized in Malibu Car Crash
The KISS co-founder is recovering after he was hospitalized following a car accident in Malibu, California, on Oct. 7, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed to NBC4.
Simmons had crashed his Lincoln Navigator into a parked car off the Pacific Coast Highway just before 1 p.m. local time, according to authorities, who said the 76-year-old told them he had passed out or fainted before hitting the other vehicle.
His wife Shannon Tweed also told the outlet that while Simmons was briefly hospitalized, the musician—who she said recently had a change to his medical prescriptions—is now recuperating at home.

Sounds like he's going to be ok. The irony is someone will send him a bill for this:

I did get to see R40. I'm glad I did.mikechamp wrote: ↑October 9 25, 10:14 amNot trying to bring up bad memories, but life is too short. Go get tickets.IMADreamer wrote: ↑October 8 25, 8:01 pmTold my wife I'd love to go see them but I bet it will be too expensive. I'm happy they are getting back together. I know you can never replace Neil but Geddy and Alex are two of the greatest living musicians and it would be a shame for them not to perform any more.GeddyWrox wrote: ↑October 7 25, 7:04 am@mikechamp, I saw that yesterday! If they come through STL I'll be sure to catch them, as long as the tickets aren't like $250 or something ridiculous.
I'm happy for them, just as human beings. The announcement video they put out was a little cheesy, but you could tell they are genuinely thrilled to be doing this. They talked about it with Peart's family and got their blessings. It'll be weird not to see Neil behind the kit, but Geddy and Alex get to go back to doing what they love.
I got to see them on the Snakes & Arrows tour, and I'm still ruing the fact that I didn't go see their R40 tour.

I saw Rush in 2010 for the first time. It was incredible.
I hope they add dates, I would love to go to Chicago to see them but have a wedding to attend that weekend.

Didn't know if this merited its own thread, so I'm putting it here for now:
John Lodge, singer and bassist of Moody Blues during classic era, dies at 82
John Lodge, the singer and bassist of British rock band The Moody Blues for more than 50 years, has died. He was 82.
Lodge featured on some of the band's best-known work, including 1967's psychedelic album “Days Of Future Passed," which is widely regarded as one of rock’s first concept albums, and its follow-up a year later, “In Search Of The Lost Chord.” Lodge also featured on the 1977 album “Octave,” which saw The Moody Blues embrace a more pop-oriented sound.
He continued to make records with the group until their final studio album in 2003, “December,” a collection of Christmas songs.

I got to see an upcoming indie band called Night Tapes a couple weeks ago. It was a great show. They just released their first full length album called "portals//polarities". There are several good songs on there but my favorites are from a few different EPs they released earlier. The lead singer is from Estonia and has a very unique voice and plays the flute in a few songs. Here is 1 of their more straightforward pop songs and 2 of their more "prog" songs.

This one is more for @Leroy than some of the other members:
Country music legend dead at 74: ‘We lost a GIANT in the music industry’
John Wesley Ryles might not be a name that many modern country music fans know, but he certainly had his time at the top of the industry. His career got off to a start in the 1960s when he was still a teenager and he ran off a string of hits through the 1980s.
Sadly, that one-time teen star has died. He was 74.

Re: Music talk Thread
Allie X's new album came out Friday. It's called Happiness Is Going To Get You. It's about a journey from depression to healing, something I've been working on myself for years. So maybe it hits different for me. These are the best 3 songs on the album. They happen to be the last 3, and you should listen to them in order. The album has been divisive for fans because it's so different from her previous album. I think her previous albums had better singles on them, but this album is greater than the sum of the individual songs.
