Bama didn't face Sam Darnold.

Not that it would have really mattered, but whatever.

But they've also put together the best resume of any team.

TA&M & Tennessee aren't in the top 25. LSU & Auburn both have 4 losses, and are borderline top 25 teams. USC is a drastically better team now than they were when Alabama beat them.

I don't think anybody is saying that Alabama doesn't deserve to be #1. I just don't think there's any reason to believe that the other top teams can't compete with them, and possibly beat them.

Also, Alabama won the vast majority of their games with ease. Lsu hung with them for 3 quarters but never threatened them and bama win by 10. Almost all victories were double digits. Sure you can ask who has tested them, and I guess there's some validity to that. But if not a single opponent ever had a shot, there's a lot to that too. Their defense is legit.

Okay but if you're gonna discount the usc win ncause usc is better now, you have to weight the atm win heavily as they were beat up and a cfp top 4 team at the time of the game. Just because bama beat them into submission during the game don't mean they weren't a top 2 or 3 team going into the game.

Ditto tennessee who was a top 25 team going into thr weekend and undefeated iirc when playing bama.

Can they be beat? Of course, it's college football. But imo this is one of sabans finest defenses. To bet against them is silly again imo. I bet if you compare teams winning % pre and post bame, it's gonna be much better pre.

?????

I'm not even sure what this means, but I suspect it's true of all of the top teams.

Ohio State pretty easily has the most impressive resume of any of the top teams. They beat current #7 (Oklahoma) by 21 points. They beat the current #6 team (Wisconsin). They beat the current #5 team (Michigan). They beat Nebraska (#10 at the time, and still top 25) by 59 points. Their only loss was at #8 Penn State, and that was by 3 points. Even in that game, Ohio State dominated yards and time of possession.

There is this thought (possibly a myth) that teams often lose the next game following a game v Bama.
I know that Arkansas has been lucky to catch LSU (this year notwithstanding) the week after Bama.

Researchable, but I don't care to do it.

Ohio state has lost a game to a team that lost to Pitt and got beat by michigan by 39 points. Alabama best the number 9 tram by what 46 points, the number 18 team by 18 and the number 21 team by 10. If you allow thst they are deep enough and big enough that they're doing physical damage to the teams they play, they have best some of the top teams at the time. If you don't allow for that, they're resume is still better than tosu's simply because they didn't lose to a team like penn state.

Anyway, bama is better than than mist everyone because of their depth. If you can keep their 11 on defense vs your 11 on ofdnese, thst evens the playing field. And it's why hurry up teams always do better against them than traditional power offenses.

bama's third stringers would be starters on a lot of teams lol

they have 5 stars transferring out because there isnt room on the roster for them

Serious question. Why is psu the number 8 or whatever team in the nation?
