Should any of you wake up early on Wednesday morning and want to be gently woken by ambient (and adjacent genres) music, then you can tune in to me! On the radio!

I've been doing this since December and may have even mentioned it on here before, but I'm the Wednesday 5-7am guy on KDHX, 88.1 or kdhx.org. I couldn't find any ambient remixes of good baseball tunes, but I do start every show off with El-P's "Take You Out At The Ballgame".
Nice! I am not typically awake before 7 but looks like the last two weeks of shows are archived? I will check it out.

That's cool! I used to DJ for my college radio station in Houston (shoutout KTRU 96.1fm!), and when I started out I had the 1-4am shift. Oh my sweet lord we got the weirdest callers. Most typically it would just be someone very high, asking us to "play something trippy." As a fringe college radio station, that wasn't a problem. One time my co-DJ got one of those callers and said "ok, how about a field recording of rainforest frogs laid over a recording of a Japanese man masturbating?" That shut the caller right up.

If you have a decent interest in a particular genre or time period, then I'd highly recommend finding your local community radio station and applying. It's so much fun!

It occurred to me, now arguably the greatest rap song ever, or on the shortlist anyhow, can get even better. Diddy’s annoying ‘ah yeah’s will be stripped out of Juicy. But turns out people have been doing that for years on YouTube.

I’m hoping no one got hurt, but they should remove the ‘uh, c’mon’ guy from The Choice is Yours. Awesome song with a near dealbreaker flaw. Can’t find that on YouTube. I always think of those songs together, with annoying vocal layers.

"Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke I couldn't picture this."

Has to be one of the best song lyrics ever.

Comedian Josh Johnson in Toronto on Drake/Kendrick. The response from the crowd is pretty telling.

Welp. Guess I’m seeing The Rolling Stones tonight. Tickets dropped to the right amount, so [expletive] it, why not?
