Absolute. Class.
Yes.

It sucks we had to do this to such class acts like Wash and Hamilton. Why couldn't we do it to one of the dozen or so AL clubs I truly dislike?

Just went back through a lot of this thread and kind of got a little teary eyed again, also some good laughs. God this is awesome, can't believe it still.

Let my 7 yo daughter stay up to watch the game. My wife fell asleep in the 7th or so. It was awesome watching the end with her and high-fiving her!

I'm glad to log on finally. My mother fell in St. Louis the Friday before last, and I spent the entire time either helping her or trying to set her affairs in order. She's recovering well, but except for one brief post or two at Barnes/Jewish Hospital, I was pretty much internet-less and running around taking care of her affairs. Needless to say, the Cardinals victory in the World Series meant a lot the past week.

With all of the hospitalizations, surgeries, scans, chemo, and everything my Dad has been through (also at Barnes) in the last 8 months or so, it was also so meaningful and so much of a joy for me to know that my Dad, the reason I am a Cardinal fan today, got to see another crazy playoff run at a world series. I was only sad I couldn't get to watch a game with him during the playoffs (stupid Tigers losing quickly to the Rangers prevented that). But anyway, I can completely relate to you, Sigh.

Good to know she's doing well.

I was thinking about Carpenter's performance this postseason, and completely forgot that he pitched a complete game shut out on the last day of the regular season. Just makes his run that much more incredible.
