hes very bad at spending money, hes very bad a trades and his system is very bad at development. and it's all been in a very bad NL central.

he's also made some extremely poor management decisions.

i'm trying to figure out how he isn't terrible at job and coming up fruitless.

It used to be "The Kilcoyne Opinion" so you could abbreviate it to TKO and it made sense.

That said, I will always have a soft spot for Martin. When I first got into journalism, I reached out to him for some advice, and he gave me some useful pointers.

At this point, I'd be happy with "slightly BELOW average." Actually, the Cards have only been "slightly above average" because the NL Central has been so bad. In most other divisions, the Cards would hardly be considered "slightly above average." Mo is NOT very good at his job. Only weak competition in the division makes it seem so. Until he moves on (probably won't) the Cardinals will continue to be a weak team in a weak division. If fans keep filling Busch, DeWitt won't care. And even if they don't, he has his TV money.

McGreevy and Graceffo will both be in the starting rotation next season, at this rate.

Giving $44 million to an injury-prone pitcher in Matz and giving $17.5 million to Wainwright during his swan song in his age 43 season and having those two be considered a part of a rotation isn't exactly a great way to spend almost $40 million in a season, either.

I get being risk averse to spending on pitching and having arms give out and injuries, but at some point, you can't just keep signing middle-of-the-road or below-average starters and hope for a different result.

Yeah they've definitely spent more than one $Scherzer on middling pitchers and (don't forget) relievers in recent memory with absolutely nothing to show for it.
