Stopped at a half way house on a golf course today. The girl working was really quite [expletive]. One of those who act like their doing you a favor by handing you a pre-made sandwich out of a cooler. Anyway, I always leave at least a buck even if their [expletive]. The sandwich was $5, I gave her a $20 and she gave me a $5 and $10. She wasn't nearly nice enough for me to ask for singles for the $5. Heck, she probably would have rolled her eyes.
Anyway, my larger point is, shouldn't she be smart enough to know that you always give back singles for change?

Oh here is a question - there is this hair place near me ran by a family of what I think are gypsies. They are from one of the former Yugoslavia countries. All but one that cuts hair is a family member - a Mom, daughter, cousin, and the father who sits with his arms crossed at the door entrance and greets you with this thick slavic "Howv are vu sir?" greeting. Nice people, the cousin is this 25 year old with a thick accent that is really attractive if you like gypsies. But she's the most miserable person ever, once I said something that made her think about smiling - but just as soon as she started to smile she realized what she was doing and put the brakes on that pronto.
$5 for a haircut, and they are rarely busy enough to have a wait. I don't know how they make money, and in fact I wonder if they aren't laundering money or something.
I always give $10 - a 100% tip - because I just don't feel comfortable getting a haircut for $5 even if I think it's just a rouge for some other shady business.
What would you tip?

A golf course is an odd place for a halfway house.

I'm pretty grateful in situations like that. Surely she's not expecting a $5 tip and she gives you no way to leave a dollar. Thanks.stlouie_lipp wrote:Stopped at a half way house on a golf course today. The girl working was really quite [expletive]. Or, you know, ask her to break the five.

Shouldn't have to. If she wasn't a [expletive], I would have. But still, she should know better.JackofDiamonds wrote:Or, you know, ask her to break the five.
