Based on those paintings, I would trust W. to apply the undercoat to my car.
The fairest aesthetic assessment of those paintings is perhaps the simplest: that's a lot of paint.

I'm beginning to think that my earlier judgment was too hasty. That painting on the left is a witty allusion to Bush's presidency and his critics. At first, the image in the mirror seems to be Bush himself--but that can't possibly be, because of the angle of the mirror. What seems to be a moment of self-reflection becomes a refusal to question himself, but instead becomes a shattering moment where the eyes accuse the perceiver of being a historical voyeur.
The absence of a mouth in the mirror-face bears silent witness to the perceiver's guilt--rendered more powerfully by Bush's skilled reference to the famous Ruined Fresco Jesus of 1992. As the mirror is on the left, we also have Bush's devastating parody of revisionist Biblical scholars, whose historical Jesus would be stripped of divinity. Nevertheless, the Ruined Fresco Jesus (with George's hair!) turns a powerful "J'Accuse!" on its audience--no fogged-up mirror here--insinuating viewers' hypocritical accusations of the Bush era as nothing more than political porn, while asserting the moral imperviousness of the post-9/11 war-on-terror surveillance state. Meanwhile, grace from the showerhead pours down, and George will emerge from the shower spotless to proceed with his retirement.
I am putting this here because I am at work and can't open the babes thread to put it there but will when I get home. I just thought there was no just reason to delay sharing this piece of beauty.
