I thought she said the only difference between the two was lipstick.
Although I personally didn't like her speech, I suppose it did what it was supposed to do. But boy did the wind come out of the sails after McCain spoke (or should I say didn't speak). He couldn't look less comfortable out there. She appeared to glance at him as though she was waiting for him to say more. The crowd was there for him waiting to explode and all he could do was give a couple thumbs-ups. Lost opportunity, not that it would have done much in the long run. I have the feeling by the time November rolls around she's going to be thinking she should be on the top of the ticket.
And I guess one speech can make some people forget about the God knows how many issues that have been revealed about Sarah Palin, but I don't forget a bit of it.
This convention has been the most partisan skewering I've ever seen in my life and it's going to turn off a LOT of independents. Every minute tonight was dedicated to fear mongering, insulting community service, downright lies(Bridge to Nowhere, anyone?) and avoiding substance arguments.
I'm sorry. I'd rather go with the adult who doesn't spend 45 minutes making one-liner insults against his opponent and actually talks about faith and hope than the people who stand on stage, mock someone's community service as nothing and mock someone for believing all people should be read their Miranda rights.
Tonight and this entire convention has been attack after attack after attack. Good luck winning moderates with all of this crap.
I will say this though as I thought it was good speech, but she did nothing to address her own issues whether it was troopergate or the bridge to nowhere (which she addressed but said the thing in Dayton, Ohio) which media reports have her clouding the truth.
It did feel like 04 in some ways, what I'll remember is what they didn't to do to question my backing of Obama but moreso how negative they were and to wonder why.
Just a quick question: If Palin was so well known and a popular governor and has executive experience...then why didn't she run for President? None of the other 3 people have that essential quality that the Republican Party is touting.

I'm just trying to separate BS from substance.
I didn't find there to be ANY substance in Palin's speech. Just constant jabs at Obama and a lie here or there.

If you think there wasn't ANY substance, you weren't watching the entire speech.

I'm going to bow out before I really get pissed..
Take your glasses off and be objective for ten freaking seconds

He just said that women voters in America won't vote for McCain/Palin simply because she is a woman..
I personally think she is picking up a lot of votes simply BECAUSE of that fact
Up to this point, the polls don't bear that out. She is doing better with men than women, which doesn't surprise me at all. It's hard to say what the cause is (Palin named as VP or Dem convention and Obama's speech), but Obama is doing better with women and former Hilary supporters now than before Palin was named on the ticket.
"That's right. The women are smarter"
What I admire about the GOP is that they convince the common worker and even the middle class to vote against themselves financially. While I acknowledge keeping money in your pocket is only part of the deal, they convince these people that they'll actually save money by having them elected. It's a great sales job, really.
But we've been listening to it for the last 2 weeks.
It's contagious.
Good point..
And TFG
McCain wasn't my first choice as a Republican, but I don't think many Republicans ever dislike McCain as much as Democrats hated Obama and/or Hillary (whichever side you were on)
Maybe I'm wrong
There is no hate on Obama or Hillary from what I can tell. Sure the media likes to blow things out of proportion for both sides of isle. The only thing I didn't like about Hillary and W is the passing of the presidency between families. I don't like it...they could promise me unlimited BJs and I still wouldn't vote for another Bush or Clinton.
Political family clout is the downfall of this society.
