Re: Former Cardinals Watch
Holliday is batting .269/.389/.526/.915. If on the Cardinals roster he would be:
- First on team in RBI.
- Third on team in OBP behind Gyorko, Garcia, and Martinez.
- Second on team in SLG behind Gyorko.
- Second on team in OPS behind Gyorko.
- Second on team in HR behind Gyorko.
- Third on team (tied) in 2B behind Wong and Grichuk.
I'd like to say our defense is at least better off without him but the Matt Adams Experiment says otherwise.
(Yes, I know Cardinals/Yankees is not a fair apples to apples comparison.)

I would go for that but not sure that Matt would.Famous Mortimer wrote:Anywhere Matt Adams has played. Pinch hitting. Giving slumping outfielders a few days off. DHing in interleague games.lukethedrifter wrote:Famous Mortimer wrote:Sure am glad they saved that Holliday money

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Royals are calling up Seth Maness from Triple-A Omaha.
Maness underwent primary repair surgery -- a possible alternative to Tommy John surgery -- last August on his right elbow and has made it back to the major league level in less than nine months. The 28-year-old was sporting a promising 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 5/1 K/BB ratio over six innings of relief this season with Omaha. Every medical staff in the majors will be tracking this story.
