But there are only so many roster spots. With the Cardinals punting, I would be fine if the Diamondbacks make a push and he is part of it.

Yeah; and he is a free agent at the end of the year so they basically just gave some pool space for a lefty to make it through the rest of the season without necessarily starting the ML clock on someone from the system. If they even have anyone in the system ready to bring up.

Surprised Stanek and to a lesser extent O'Brien didn't get dealt.

Looking at the Brewers AA team on Fangraphs and it's red nearly across the board for the top 10 players (that includes Ragsdale, though his K% is high). Pretty silly for them (fans) to be mad about losing a couple guys. I think I'd be mad about not getting Skubal more than anything. They'd have had him and Misiorowski as their 1 and 2 for the playoffs. Facing the Dodgers or not I'd feel pretty great about that.
