Rangers are one of five teams that Mozeliak has saved in his phone.

Now that the trade deadline is over, what do we have? We traded our major league players for prospects. Who is going to replace them on the major league roster? And it looks like we still have Arenado, Gray, and Contreras.

Don’t really get the point of keeping JoJo. Instead of trading a reliever with 1.5 seasons, we’ll be trading a reliever with 1 season. Or keeping him, but for what?

The Cardinals failed again. While they got decent return for who they traded, they still have too many "DH" type guys on the 40 man roster.

I’d hate to, you know, trade him when his value is the highest it’s going to be

Interesting tidbit in John Denton’s article mentioning that Arenado may change his mind about his NTC this off-season because the plan is to give Saggese and Gorman more playing time at 3rd base the rest of the season.
Are they going to do a hybrid/benching of Arenado?

Hopefully. He shouldn't be starting the rest of the season.Slider wrote: ↑August 1 25, 9:38 amInteresting tidbit in John Denton’s article mentioning that Arenado may change his mind about his NTC this off-season because the plan is to give Saggese and Gorman more playing time at 3rd base the rest of the season.

I can understand your perspective, but if we view them that way, wouldn't other teams, too?Fat_Bulldog wrote: ↑August 1 25, 8:01 amThe Cardinals failed again. While they got decent return for who they traded, they still have too many "DH" type guys on the 40 man roster.
For instance, Baker is filler. I don't know what he'd net back in return, other than filler at a different position.

had we done that, he may have loosened his NTC in the offseason if we'd told him that

it should have been the plan to begin this season (with Gorman as the LH platoon against RHP with arenado)dmarx114 wrote: ↑August 1 25, 9:40 amHopefully. we have a bunch of guys that won't return anything in a trade and need to just be let go on the 40 man...there's plenty of space
Goold already spoke with FO sources that said basically do not expect any FA this offseason, so no one to need a spot there

yeah nothing...which is why I don't understand the talk about wanting prospects further away in our trades, that are not needing protection on the 40 man, for bloom to work with this offseasonmikechamp wrote: ↑August 1 25, 10:37 amI can understand your perspective, but if we view them that way, wouldn't other teams, too?Fat_Bulldog wrote: ↑August 1 25, 8:01 amThe Cardinals failed again.
