Looks like Napoli was 2 for 6 plus two walks after the injury. Plus he made the pivotal pickoff of Holliday after the ankle injury.
I concur, playing hurt and being an albatross to your team is not smart. But in Napoli's case - he helped their chances to win over replacement-IMO (no way to really know). Even with setting up the dick high fastball to Freese in the 11th.
As far as Holliday/Craig being the better option at that point, I concur there as well - which is easy to concur in retrospect. But mentally, that contrast between Napoli and Holliday was telling during the game. In the end, it was just another sidestory that added to the drama of this game. Luckily for Holliday, teammates bailed him out.
So still forward the Napoli pic to Holliday for future reference. As the eminent everyday franchise player he has to find a way.

When it was announced that Holliday was out for game 7 and Craig was starting in left, my one word response was: "Good."
Seemed pretty clear at the time that Holliday was hurting the team in the last few games of the series.

Ok so I don't feel quite so bad, because the guy that cleans my office who can't speak a lick of English had a little trouble. Once he told me the end (Digale que no a esa pelota) I google searched it and found tons of hits:
I found where i could "like" that phrase on facebook, which of course I do and did. Loosely it means something like tell him no to that ball .. like he isn't going to get it.

Me too. I was good with running out guys that I felt we could count on. Craig and Freese looked star struck the first two games of the NLDS, and both seemed to "wake up" and grow up at the same time. By the time game 7 of the WS was here they were hardened veterans, ready for anything.

I just watched all the big hits from game 6 again on MLB.com. Lots of posts in the GDT mention crying - I was too stunned and excited to even be able to process tears, but now, just reading that GDT can make me tear up.

I realized the other day that I have watched and listened to the last three innings of that game so many times that I have the Cardinal batters memorized. I'm gonna write them down now and check to make sure I'm correct. And the other reason I'm writing this is that it's fun.
