This is not characterizing the situation correctly, in my opinion.

Edit: That is to say, just because the University didn't complete its own thorough independent investigation within 60 days, doesn't mean that it is actively trying to cover up the incident. I mean, which authorities at FSU that are trying to cover this up? What is that based on?
* Didn't follow up on their Title IX obligation to investigate (FSU)
* Told the girl that Tallahassee is "a big football town" and that she should think twice (this was the Tallahassee PD, it seems)
* Stalled on the DNA test (also the Tallahassee PD)
* Told Winston's lawyer without even giving the girl a heads-up (also the Talllahassee PD)
* Fabricated the story about the woman changing her mind (Tallahassee city manager)
* Launched an online campaign of harrassment and character assassination (Florida State fans)

So, fine, how much of this is directly attributable to Florida State University is not yet clear. But it seems to strain credulity that the Tallahassee PD decided to stall this investigation on their own hook, or the Tallahassee city manager fabricated that story on his own initiative.

Super-ugly story in any case. Should be a fun Heisman Trophy ceremony.

Both lines have held steady so far this week. This is the kind of game where I would probably put a little money on aTm if I still lived in Vegas.

Current odds to win NCAA title. Kind of amazing you can't even get even money for Bama right now.

Alabama 10/11
Florida State 6/5
Ohio State 13/2
Field 10/1
Missouri 20/1
Oklahoma State 200/1
Clemson 300/1
South Carolina 300/1
Baylor 500/1

at least a touchdown, right?
It'll depend on what happens this weekend, obviously. If Mizzou beats up on aTm by 20+ points (Alabama won by 7) and Auburn exposes a glaring weakness in Bama's defense against the spread hurry up style offense (unlikely) and still manages to lose by a late field goal, that'll probably give pause for bookies to set a 10+ point line.

If Mizzou squeaks by aTm and Alabama trounces Auburn and crushes their offensive swagger, you could probably see a 14-17 point line.

I don't know where you can get a line right now, but I'd guess it's around 13.

Big day! Lots of games and lots of good games and lots of meaningful games! Setting up the TV and computer outside. Thinking about buying another TV just for today

I'm up at my mothers in upstate NY but we'll need to watch the Iron Bowl so I can keep up at work Monday.

So close, Michigan. I guess it's time to pull for Sparty next week.

I missed the end of that game while traveling home, and then showering.

So… WTF? Michigan went for 2?!?! Why on earth would you [expletive] do that?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Take it to OT and give yourself an even chance.

I liked it. I don't think they had a prayer of stopping Miller & Hyde.

I didn't see the game, but from the box score it sounds like Gardner was shredding them right back.

Auburn is looking pretty strong so far.
