Well what are you supposed to do if you've never heard of the other band...just drop out of voting?

Gosh, stupid people vote in this country every November.

I understand, mad. I have not voted in the contests where I don't know enough to vote with reason. I'm not a big metal fan, and so I'm passing on those contests.

Let's say my favorite band is Night Ranger. They set them against say, The Sex Pistols, of who I know not one song.

Night Ranger is still my favorite band. I would vote for them.

burkenator, that's why I like this board. It's very diverse in age groups that I can tell. There's a lot of youngsters, a lot of middle of the roaders (like me), and a lot of older folks (and by that I mean middle aged and above). If you're going to hold a Greatest Rock Band tourney, you need all parties represented, right?

I could be wrong, but there are bands older than ZZ Top in this contest.

And that's your right. I'm not saying it isn't your right. I'm just saying you're not making a fair comparison, and if you're cool with not making a fair comparison... again, that's your right.

Like you said about November, people have voted on much bigger issues with much less info. And this tourney is just for fun, so I need to just turn my fairness meter off for a while (it's just hard for me to do).

I should add that Night Ranger isn't my favorite band.
