Sure. I'm not convinced that they got it wrong, and I haven't seen anything to show otherwise. Is it questionable? Sure. I think a case could be made either way. If they hadn't given it to him, then Ohio State fans would be saying the same thing that you're saying ("replay sucks"). I don't think this is an example of replay failing. I think this is a case of replay being inconclusive.

but going back to my original point, replay does not guarantee a correct call. And if people argue for replay based on thst logic, they should account for times where it won't result in a conclusively correct call.

Why not just use 3 officials then, rather than paying 7 of them? Sure, 7 will give you a better chance of calling the game correctly, but it doesn't guarantee results, so why bother?

I guess they could make a case, but they will still have 2 losses. One of those losses was by 39 points. The other loss was against an un-ranked team.

If Wisconsin wins the Big Ten Championship game, I think they actually have a pretty good argument to get in. I'm not sure how you keep Ohio State out, though. Their resume is really good.

We could argue this for days, but I still think that if you lose a game by 39 points, and you lose a game against an unranked team, you've blown your shot to get into the championship series.

Besides all of that, I will always hate Penn State for how they handled the Paterno thing. I'll never make a case for them to get into the championship series.

EDIT: And Washington's 13 point loss against USC wasn't even that close.

My ultimate point is I wouldn't say power conference teams with 0 or 1 loss are slam dunk better.

It's possible, but probably not with 4 losses.

I still think it will be hard to argue with Clemson, Alabama, Washington and Ohio State.
