When did leroy leave? How do people even know he left? Reading through this thread it seems like common knowledge that he departed (even a handful of days after his last post), almost like he announced it or said something.

Re: The Asshat Thread
Once upon a time, there was a thread about Ted Nugent. It was a silly yet ugly thread. It has long since been locked, scrubbed, and largely banished to the ether of internet nothingness. Things were said there about Fox News or somesuch, and a tangent about the Secret Service scandal. Leroy felt attacked as a lone representative of more conservative positions, said he was done, and hasn't been back since. That was...i dunno, 6 weeks ago?Kyle wrote:When did leroy leave? Sure gotta love those self starting small government pull yourself up by the bootstraps types
Curt Schilling loves his MMORPGs (think Everquest or World of Warcraft). So much so that in 2006, he founded his own company to produce them. 38 Studios set up shop in Maynard, Mass., and got to work.
In 2010, the state of Rhode Island came a-calling. As part of the RI Economic Development Corporation's effort to create jobs in the state, they offered 38 Studios a $75 million loan, if only they would pack up operations and bring them to Rhode Island. Schilling and co. moved to Providence, and pledged to employ 450 locals. It was a gamble for the state, which only had $125 million for the entire job creation program, and took criticism at the time.
Update: Missed this the first time around, but worth noting. Last year Schilling told Reuters that he had invested "$30 million to $35 million" in 38 Studios. A disclosure filing obtained by WPRI shows that Schilling advanced the company $4 million of his own money, and has already been paid back—with funds from the Rhode Island loan.

Re: The Asshat Thread
Somewhat similar to the "award" ceremony,
According to accounts of the May 25 incident, the adult chaperone pocketed the small, oblong moose droppings on a hike and told some students about the trick. The chaperone offered the droppings to a 13-year-old boy, telling him they were chocolate-covered almonds. When he ate one, the other children laughed and he went to the river to wash out his mouth.
And it gets worse.
While the boy was at the river, a girl who hadn’t been there to witness the incident joined the group, and she was also duped with the same offer. But she was wearing braces.
“She was told ‘it’s nutritious, it’s berries and grass.’ She was chewing it, and it got stuck in her braces,” a relative of one of the kids told the Winnipeg Free Press.

super funny but I'd be shoving some feces into that parents mouth when I got ahold of them tbh

The other day I am in a left turn lane waiting on the left turn signal. I receive the green arrow and turn left. At the same time, some bicyclist on the opposite side of the road who thinks the rules of the road do not apply to him sails through the red light as I am turning. I resisted the urge to run him over.

I certainly wouldn't be offended had you done it. Everyday when I'm riding I'm passed by other cyclists while I'm waiting at red lights. It makes all cyclists look bad and the police will never take a cyclist seriously who was hit when riding legally because of them.Vidor wrote:The other day I am in a left turn lane waiting on the left turn signal. Re: The Asshat Thread
Schilling apparently spent yesterday complaining that RI's governor sank his company by telling reporters that Schilling was trying to keep the company "solvent." Prospective investors then pulled out, and his company became insolvent. Seems kind of like the governor was telling the truth then...

According to Schilling, capitalist markets are so weak and vulnerable that a governor's comment would scare away savvy private investors from investing in a supposedly profitable company. O.k.
