I hate to hear that about Chambers.
My Adron Chambers story:
Memphis was playing Omaha in 2012 with Adron in center. After making a tremendous full layout catch for the 3rd out, on the way back to the dugout he pointed to my kid and threw her the ball-which she still has. Along with seeing Ankiel play at Rosenblatt during his comeback, that's still one of my favorite Redbird AAA memories.

Take solace that he was clean as a Cardinal, and started roiding it up as dirty Cub.

Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said Tuesday that trading Allen Craig would be "an ideal scenario."
Of course it would be. However, Dombrowski acknowledged that unloading Craig is going to be difficult. The 31-year-old has hit just .206 with a .571 OPS in 593 plate appearances at the major league level since the start of 2014. He's still owed $9 million in 2016 and $11 million in 2017, with a $1 million buyout on a club option for 2018.

Bloody hell, I'd forgotten about all that money.

First baseman Allen Craig was outrighted to Pawtucket and accepted his assignment.
Craig has hit .139 with a .432 OPS in 65 games for the Sox since being acquired from the Cardinals on July 31, 2014. This marks the second time in six months he has been outrighted off the roster.

Why does Craig accept the demotion? He has $9 million on his contract for 2016, $11 million for ’17, and a $1 million buyout in ’18. By accepting, the contract remains in effect.

I'm always sad when I read stories about Craig.

It would be sadder if he hadn't signed that contract. As it is, he still has twenty million dollars coming from the Red Sox. Not too shabby.

After all these years :
Angels first baseman Albert Pujols had surgery last week to “repair the planter plate in his right foot,” per a team announcement. He’s expected to return to full baseball activities in four-and-a-half months, according to the release.
