Anyone pass a taco at the airport? I passed a stone once during a layover and man that was painful!

Doc Holliday died of consumption and alcoholism at age 36.
Billie Holliday died of cirrhosis of the liver at age 44.
British crooner Michael Holliday died at age 38, of suicide after a mental breakdown.
Oscar-winning American Actress Judy Holliday died of cancer at age 43.
Matt Holliday will turn 30 in January. I don't like his life expectancy.

That actually leads me to a question - if someone has a large contract and they pass away in the middle of it (i.e. DK), is the front office still on the hook for the money? Would it just go to his beneficiaries? Or would it void the contract? I know for a lot of major contracts the front office will take out insurance so that if the player is severely injured and misses years of it then they can recoup some of the lost money - I don't know if that holds true for if the player passes away.
Any thoughts?
I'm not trying to be a jackass or anything - I'm genuinely curious as to the answer.

I don't know, but I like where you are going with this. the organization gets the contracts insured, especially for large contracts, that way if the player dies the insurance company will take care of it, and even in some instances where a player goes on a long period of time on the DL insurance will cover that time... that way when you're hurt and miss work, it doesn't hurt to miss workSwirls wrote:That actually leads me to a question - if someone has a large contract and they pass away in the middle of it (i.e. DK), is the front office still on the hook for the money? I think some players teams have a hard time of getting insured, tho, like perhaps JD Drew would be tough to get his contract insured bc he's injured more often than most players

And a contract pays you cash, which is just as good as money.

I know Lymon Bostock died shortly after signing a big contract with the Angels. Don't know the results.
