I read that Silver is considering revamping the playoffs. Do away with conferences essentially, the 6 division winners would get playoff berths, and so would the 10 remaining teams with the best records.

Won't happen this year, but to use it as an example, Miami and Charlotte would be bumped for New Orleans and Oklahoma City.

I don't think there's ever been a single, likable Doc Rivers team.

Not even Dominique at his most dunktastic could elevate those Rivers/Tree Rollins/Kevin Willis Hawks teams to liability.

I have been meaning to catch a Warriors game in one of my visits to my sister. She's not into hoops but her now ex is and I'm sure he'd love to take me to a game.

Damn, I just checked the schedule and they have a game against the Hawks at home when I hope to be out there in March.

So I am going to be in the Bay Area that week. Two home games, one against ATL. I'm getting tix.

I just watched Chris Paul's ref not only award James Harden a foul for just falling over, but inexplicably give him free throws (not in the bonus) as well.

edit: Since then I've seen her point the wrong direction, and say the wrong color on two separate plays. Tough day for the rookie.

It's a little ironic, I suppose to recall those 80s NBA days when Kevin McHale and others were murdering each other? It's kind of funny that he's so often up at the refs advocating for his superstar who turns every blinked eye into an international crisis.

A Disconnected Derrick Rose?: After pulling out a tough win last night in Orlando, most of the Chicago Bulls players slowly dressed by their lockers. Some were taking their time icing sore body parts, some were a little quicker to get in the shower. But a glance around the locker room revealed something out of place. Where was Derrick Rose?

As groups of teammates sat around the locker room talking to each other or to the media, Rose was nowhere to be seen. A glance toward the door revealed a completed dressed Rose, who seemed to be trying to slide out the side door before he realized (or was told) he had to talk to the media.

The gist from in the locker room is that the Bulls are simply giving Rose his space and allowing him to find his way back into a process that works consistently for him and the team. The problem is the massive swings you see from the Bulls and Rose on a night to night basis are somewhat explained when you watch the locker room dynamic.

Rose is simply not as connected to the others as much as he once was (or as connected as the rest of his teammates are).

For the Bulls to turn the corner completely, Rose has to find his way back to the group. This isn’t a case of the group not wanting him back, more a case of Rose fighting through his own challenges to get to the point where fitting in feels right again.

It has to be frustrating for Rose, his body just isn't going to allow him to be the same player he was before. And the advice people are giving him is just that - attack the basket etc.. But maybe he just can't, maybe his body is just too knicked up to do that, at least with the frequency that would get him back to his MVP type performance.

He's a different player, and he has to figure out how this different player can help the team the most.
