This week against the Chiefs (and his predecessor, Kyle Orton) is being viewed as the biggest test so far, especially since a win would clinch the division.

And it's being viewed as validation that the right decision was made all those weeks ago.

I don't think anyone can really argue that playing Tebow full time this year was the wrong decision. Regardless of how much credit you think he deserves for it, his W-L record this season speaks for itself. Kyle Orton isn't going to win any Super Bowls either. The problems start when people assume Tebow is going to be that successful going forward and the media feels the need to tell us all about it constantly.

The real decision will be this offseason whether the Broncos bring in anyone to legitimately challenge for the starting job or commit to Tebow for the near future.

I agree almost completely. But I think the media is split - half of them want to tell us that Tebow is absolutely the long-term answer, and half of them want to tell us that he has no place in the league. There's not much middle ground.

I can't fathom who the Broncos would bring in to challenge him. If the Broncos had tanked, then they might be in position to draft a good quarterback, but there's almost no chance at this point that they'll be drafting high enough to bring someone on board who will immediately challenge for the starting job.

It's tough. QB play in the NFL is as low as I can remember. There are 3-4 guys playing historically good, another 5-10 guys you could realistically win a title with, and the rest of the teams don't even have a legit starter let alone a backup. Hardly any good QBs are ever free agents, so you either have to suck and get a top pick or get lucky with a mid round guy being better than expected. Colleges seem to be producing less and less good NFL QBs, probably because of all the different offenses that can succeed in college but not pro.

I'm in CO too, and i'm hearing a lot of "let's give him next year and see if he improves."

Well, with no lockout, he'll have a full off-season to work on whatever it is that he needs to. I'm convinced that nobody will outwork him, but that doesn't mean that he can improve his accuracy. I hope he can.

After running and passing the Broncos to win after win in an option-based offense, Tebow was shut down by the Bills and the New England Patriots​. They made Tebow throw from the pocket.

"I'd rather have him in the pocket than running around for first downs outside the pocket," Chiefs interim coach Romeo Crennel​ said. "And usually, when he gets outside the pocket, he runs for a first down."
