Just finished season 2 of Sons of Anarchy. Would fans of the show recommend I watch season 3? Season 2, while entertaining, was just a bunch of increasingly ridiculous running around and shooting at stuff that caused me to progressively care less and less about all the characters and make the fictional world they inhabit seem more and more cartoonish.

Not to ruin it for you, but Sons of Anarchy's second season is like GTA: The Biker version. The first season is amazing though.

Um, well, Season 3 is less GTA Biker and more character development, but I got annoyed at how long it took plot points to develop, how much time they spent on not entertaining characters (Tara) and there was some unrealistic/stupid drama in Ireland when they finally got there. But the last episode of the season was so [expletive] good that it made it worth it to me. It was definitely the weakest season to date.

Definetly.
Is there some unnecessary action, sure.
But there's several good storylines, some amazing scenes, and great acting.
Jax and his Mom are great as usual. After watching the season, you'll be so amazed, you'll have a "Glasgow Smile".
