Former Mizzou tailback Derrick Washington, banned from the program after being charged with felony sexual assault, was arrested at 6:34 a.m. Sunday by Columbia police on suspicion of third degree domestic assault, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department online log.

The misdemeanor arrest comes as Washington awaits his arraignment in late September on a deviate sexual assault charge over an alleged incident in June.

Washington was Mizzou's leading rusher the last two seasons and was named a co-captain in August, but he was "permanently suspended" by Mizzou three days before its Sept. 4 opener against Illinois after the felony charge was brought earlier that week.

Under the terms of that suspension, Washington, a senior, was to retain his scholarship for the year if he remained in school. It's unclear whether he still is enrolled at MU.

Franklin's in now. Gabbert finished 26 for 31 with (IIRC) 220 yards passing. Moe finished at 10 catches for 79 yards, and Josey had 7 carries for 115 yards. He's also the first true freshman at Mizzou to get 3 TD's in a game since Corby Jones in 1995.

The ground game has some 200 yards and it wasn't even the fourth quarter when I checked.

Franklin gets his first TD rushing, goes 6 0f 8 passing for only 25 yards, but that's about what to expect when you aren't trying to run up the score. Good exposure for him and he's ecstatic to have gotten the time.

It's easy to get giddy thinking about a backfield with Josey and Franklin in it one and two years down the road, depending on Gabbert's plans.
