RateBeer has it listed as a Pale lager:
The colour of pale lager ranges from light bronze to nearly transparent and the alcohol anywhere from 4-6%. Adjunct usage may be quite high, though in some cases the beer is all-malt. Carbonation is typically forced, though not always. One thing that doesn’t vary is that neither the malt nor the hops make much of an impression on the palate. These beers are brewed for minimum character, though faint traces of hop or malt may show through. More likely though is that adjuncts like corn will show through, or you’ll find notes of higher alcohols (fuel notes) due to the use of high-gravity brewing. The body will be thin and watery, and the finish is typically non-existent.
And BeerAdvocate has it as an American Pale Lager:
Sometimes referred to as "all-malt," this category of beer refers to lagers brewed without cereal adjuncts (mainly rice or corn). Though often still yellow and fizzy, these beers will display a broader depth of malt flavor and a more complex bitterness vs. their adjunct counterparts.
I don't see either on the periodic table. The American Pale Lager examples listed on BeerAdvocate include Kirin, which is #24- American standard- and Michelob, which is #38- American premium. I could see it in either of those categories.

Given how much money is behind it, and that it's an easy binge beer, I think it's got staying power.

Of course not.

Kalik - a Bahamian beer - pretty good. The Caribbean brewers have a similiar style, this is alot like Red Stripe. I like it. They make a "Gold" that has 7% alcohol, although I didn't try it.

El Presidente - from the Dominican. It's ok but pretty undistinctive. Less flavor than the Kalik.

Morning beer is fine under any circumstance. Breakfast after all, is the most important meal of the day.

The other day at the grocery store, I had a long conversation with the beer distributor guy. He recommended the 4 Hands Smoked Pigasus. I was skeptical. Smoked beers in general are usually way overdone. But he addressed that specific objection before I could even make it. He said it was not like most smoked porters.

I just gave it a try, and I'll be damned if the guy wasn't right. It has a smoke flavor but it's very mild. What's left after the smoke is a solid porter with a hint of sweetness to it (it's apparently made with maple syrup). The two seemingly bad elements- the sweet maple and the smoke- neutralize each other to bring the best parts out. It's a pretty damned good beer.

Just saw a commercial for this saying it won't be available until 2/3/13 - I bought this last week at Target. Pretty good beer.

I can't imagine a scenario where smoked beer is good. I had some once and I'm not kidding I had to throw it out. I actually dumped a 1/2 bottle of beer, and didn't regret it.

Once the weather breaks I'm going to wax up the 'stang and make a road trip up to Wisco and stock up on some New Glarus. I haven't had a N.G. product in almost a year.

4 times out of 5, I'm right there with you. This one was very subtle. The smoke was barely there.

Just finishing a growler of 2nd Shift's Brewcocky. I know, it's not cool to partake in IPAs and talk about it. This is an imperial IPA, whatever that mean. 9% ABV, but pretty damn smooth at that. Thumbs up.
