I noticed that too. Reyes has been working at 85, and Verlander 93. I think they have it calibrated to the front of the plate instead of the pitcher's hand this time around.

I'm really excited to see what Weaver can do... if he looked that good against a lefty-heavy Mets lineup, I think he could do wonders with a team like the Tigers. Not only is their offense less impressive, it's also plagued with righties, which should suit Weaver well...

Reyes starting to look slightly mortal that last inning... but he's only at 82 pitches. 8-9-1 hitters due up next inning for the Tiggers. Do you run him out one more inning or bring in Kinney?

Since its 7-1, I give a few scenarios...

Yank him if the leadoff guy gets on...

If he gets one out, yank him if 2 get on

If he has two out, yank him only after he gives up a run.

Let him sink or swim, but don't let them get any pre-2 out momentum.

I'm thinking a lefty-heavy lineup might have actually helped him concentrate on his pitches more...he knows he doesn't have much room for error.

If he can keep up his concentration levels against the righties, he should continue to pitch well.

I feed them Looper. Let him get his feet wet and hopefully a little taste of success in a game with some buffer zone. We definitely need him to be sharp with the righties in this lineup.

I would say try to get one of our less valuable righties going...but they are basically our long men and we might need them.
