Tuivailala is on the fringe

Gregerson and Cecil can't be in the plan going forward.

Norris needs to be traded ASAP to a contender for a prospect.
Yeah, I think you nailed it.

If I was Mo, I would ensure either Miller or Britton is in the bullpen next year.

And I would do the same with Kimbrel and Herrera.

And then sign Ottavino.

Cardinals recalled RHP Matt Bowman from Triple-A Memphis.

Bowman will return to the Cardinals' bullpen ahead of Thursday's series opener at Wrigley Field. The 27-year-old right-hander holds an ugly 5.75 ERA in 20 appearances this season at the major league level.

shildt better bury his ass on the bench

Ugly but not ugliest. Also 6.26 according to http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/stats/ ... extended=0

man i dunno...i wish, but don't think there's a chance...

they're already eating money on leake from last year. no way they eat gregerson and cecil as well (plus fowler that we all want them to get rid of)

i just don't see them eating like 20-30-40 mil in salary next year...

Leake - 17 mil we gave/will give to SEA...not sure how that is structured/when it comes out
Gregerson in 2019 - 5 mil
Cecil in 2019 - 7.5 mil
Cecil in 2020 - 7 mil

fowler (even though this is the bullpen thread) is owed 14.5 mil on 2019, 2020, and 2021

I disagree. Mo needs to convert non-starters in our farm to pen guys. No more long term deals to relievers.

By definition, wouldn't a non-starter already be a pen guy?

somehow i think this quote from apollo 13 works with regards to FO/on the field staff
Jack: Listen, listen, listen! They gave us too much Delta V, had us burn too long. At this rate, we're gonna skip right off of the atmosphere, and we're never gonna get back!
Fred: What are you talking about? How'd you figure that?
Jack: I can add.
Jim: Jack, they've got half the Ph.Ds on the planet working on this.
Fred: Houston says we're right on the money.
Jack: And what if they have made a mistake, all right, and there was no way to reverse it? You think they would tell us? There's no reason for them to tell us.
Fred: What do you mean they're not gonna tell us? That's bullsh*t!
Jim: All right, there's 1,000 things that have to happen in order, we are on #8. You're taking about #692.
Jack: And in the meantime, I'm trying to tell you we're coming in too fast. I think they know it, and I think that's why we don't have a goddamn re-entry plan.
Jim: That's duly noted. Thank you, Jack. We agree with that.
