I follow you. But is that the purpose of a beat reporter? That's more of an analysis thing. I know JR could the analysis side as well, but I was thinking that a beat writer's primary responsibility is just reporting stuff like who's in, who's out, how bad injuries are, what did the coach and players say after the game, etc.JCShutout wrote:Why is Tank on the left side? so i guess the lines will look something like this to start out?
Schwartz-Schenn-Steen
Tarasenko-Stastny-Sobotka
Barbashev/Jaskin-Fabbri-Berglund
Sanford/Paajarvi-Brodziak-Bennett
And Geddy, I'm not saying he has to have played it, but I don't know anything about the guy. How well does he know the sport? How long has he been a fan? Does he know systems, styles and all that? What makes a good player who isn't on the scoresheet or a bad player who is on the scoresheet? Can he tell if a goal is the fault of the goalie, the D, the forwards for not back checking, or a combo, etc etc.
And JT was highly respected in the same role for the Rams for their whole tenure here.
If the expectation is more along the lines of analysis of the game, then yeah, he will probably have some growing pains.
