All the Devin Hester talk brings me back to Mizzou and J Maclin. When that dude learns to be a bit more patient he's going to be right up there with the best of them. He should have two return TDs last Sat night.

Today we salute you, Mr. Excuse Ridden Over-Confident Kansas Football Fan.
Eleven straight wins, you wore that classy "Muck Fizzou" shirt like you meant it (Pinch me, I'm dreamin'!)
A season of bloated statistics and over-hyped wins against Junior Varsity competition (Serve another cupcake!)
Losing to a superior team with better players is no match for your what-if scenarios and could-have-been dreams (The field goal missed by inches!)
So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light you emphatic engineer of excuses.
After all, you would've won the game if it was played somewhere else!

Aren't Missouri fans being a little cocky about this? Missouri's never won anything, and they have the same record as Kansas. Would you want Oklahoma fans smack-talking like that if they beat Missouri next week?

Of course! Winning gives you the right to brag, ESPECIALLY when said victory comes against your bitter rival from across the border.
Missouri's never won anything...
They won last week.
...and they have the same record as Kansas.
Yeah, but one of those 11-1 records is a lot more impressive than the other.

I'm not going to say I would want them to talk smack, but it's inevitable and has always been a part of sports. By being a fan of a certain team, you open yourself up for disappointment and criticism when that team loses. You just deal with it and move on.

Do you understand what a college rivalry is?

Sure.

Michican/Ohio State. Alabama/Auburn Oklahoma/Texas. Nebraska/Oklahoma.

I guess I wasn't aware that Kansas/Missouri was in that group.

Are you trying to be obtuse on this point? That's like saying you know the Yankees/Red Sox and Giants/Dodgers are baseball rivalries, but not knowing Cardinals/Cubs was up there too.

The Missouri-Kansas football series is the second most played rivalry in college football history.

The rivalry was magnified this year because both teams are having great seasons. That much was to be expected when one team was undefeated and the other had one loss to a highly-ranked Oklahoma team (not to mention both playing for the North title). But that national attention wasn't there for many years before, and it's always been a huge rivalry.

You're kidding, right??

All of America knows about Red Sox/Yankees, Giants/Dodgers, Cubs/Cardinals.

I honestly doubt if anyone outside of Missouri and Kansas knew before the last 2 weeks that there was a rivalry. In all seriousness, I had no idea that there was a rivalry........... and I live in Iowa.
