I don't believe the playoffs are in our future, but you can't take away the early season wins. It's got me interested and somewhat excited.

There wasn't anything like this last year where it was an old and listless team. Not having to watch Mikolas and Fedde is pretty great.

In the end, the record might turn out similarly to last year, but it's already much more fun for me this year.

Exactly what Phins said. And this team just gets more fun once we add doyle, crooks, baez, rodriguez, clintje, etc in the next year or two.

IFFFF Baez can actually pan out as a hitter in the bigs, this becomes a much deeper lineup.... I have been fooled by Noot before. I hope to be wrong, but I don't see him as a long-term fit. Maybe the surgery is successful and he stays on the field and does well. Anyway, I am enjoying watching the kids play. I still think JJW will hit for a much higher average once he adjusts a bit more to the bigs. His glove at 2B has been just fine!

Noot's biggest problem has been staying on the field, but I agree that Baez being real combined with Walker being able to maintain his start to the season would change the team from having question marks to having some really interesting upside.

JJ has been one of the most fun players to watch so far for me, the glove is good and he takes good at bats. I am sure he will have some ups and downs when it comes to hitting but he was also facing some tough lefties last night and did get a couple of walks.

Thanks. I was a very long time poster at the old CardsTalk, which finally was pulled down. Wondering how many ex CT posters will show up here! An OF with Baez and Walker (if he continues to figure it out offensively) would be pretty good and allow for a speedy CFer whose bat was not as critical. Of course it would be great if VSII or Church or someone could provide great CF defense and actually hit a little.. We shall see. The BP is finally settling down a bit. Was good to see May settle down too. Guy has killer stuff, so if he stays healthy he should provide some good starts. As usual, and with any team, lots of ifs...... But it is fun to watch the kids play. Herrera can hit and you can see more signs of him heating up by the game. His bat is also a key to this team. Winn can hit .250 as far as I am concerned. He just needs to keep playing insane D at SS. McG has looked pretty good and Libby as well. They will have ups and downs, but at least we don't have to watch Fedde and MM anymore! Pallante... not bad so far. It isn't a top 5 in baseball rotation, but it also isn't a bottom 5!

I suppose it is possible we will get some CT exiles...this board was made 20 years ago this month and several CT posters came over at that time to make this their new home.

I don't have any argument with most of your comments there. Some players will step up and some will falter, I suppose that is what a rebuild is all about.

Yes, will be interesting to see who shows up. We had a very good community there, along with the usual dysfunctional ones.....that any forum gets. Looking forward to some good chats here! Yes, this is what a rebuild looks like, but there seems to be some good talent in the pipeline. Never know who will work out...
