Oppenheimer was really good. Amazing performance. I’m not sure the framing within the RDJ character arc was really needed. Or the nudity, for that matter. I bet the explosion was great in the cinema—really excellent scene. That and the speech in the gym are unforgettable.

It was also good to see Han Solo without that goddam smirk he held for two straight hours that made me hate him a lot.

Theoretically trimming movies is what I do now. I’m sorry. I promise I’ll find a way to make Killers of the Flower Moon doable in 25 minutes. It’s a busy dad who has to watch every non-Pixar movie in three shifts thing.

spurned by a video from the RLM guys, i watched "dinner in america". i enjoyed it...starts off vulgar/abrasive but ends up kind of sweet...a punk rock love story if you will. good performances by the leads. might turn off some people but at the same time its got heart. it came out during 2020 so it probably got lost a bit during all the covid stuff but i would recommend it. the RLM guys compared it to "ghost world" so if you liked that movie you might dig this one too.

Watched KOTFM in three sittings. I need to watch it in one piece to ask this fairly: But did it have severe pacing issues? The ending from court through the radio play felt rushed. Weird too, but the weirdness was interesting.

This isn’t fair or true I think, but I usually find Leo just a leading guy. Even when he was Howard Hughes (and I love that movie). I really thought this was his most interesting and best performance since Gilbert Grape or whatever. His half Sling Blade thing was interesting and good.

The musicians—Isbell was alright and interesting. Sturgill was not very good (also not good in that sci fi movie he was in), and Yorn was fun but not really judgeable. I hope they all got to BS together, but who knows. Probably never on the set together.

I am not a DiCaprio fan per se but thought this was one of the best jobs he has done in a long time. I couldn't believe he wasn't nominated for an award but old and crazy ass DeNiro was for being old and crazy.

I watched it. Tarantino is not my favorite director but I think the American fable genre might suit him. Decent watch. And DiCaprio did a nice job I agree though I think Pitt made the movie better.

Challengers was excellent. Even if the score was mixed in too loudly over the dialogue a couple times. Might end up being my favorite movie this year. Big surprise to me, because I wasn't even interested in it at first.
