I was ready a couple months ago.JackofDiamonds wrote:Anyone else ready for hockey to start?
Fingers crossed that the ownership situation will be resolved one way or another before the season.

Me too, but it feels like it's coming on now. Training camp is just around the corner, first pre-season game in less than a month.Popeye_Card wrote:I was ready a couple months ago.JackofDiamonds wrote:Anyone else ready for hockey to start?

I saw that the last "deadline" resulted in bids lower than the value of the secured debt. Whoops.

The bids from this latest round, that they received back Monday?
Oh [expletive]. That's bad.

The PD article says Stillman's bid on Monday was believed to be around his original offer of $110 million. The Blues are asking for $180 million. With the way things usually go for the Blues, we won't have a new owner until 2012...

I believe the two are closer than they seem. Since Stillman doesn't have to buy himself out, that's $18m of the 180m asking price. I also heard something about a 30m bond that he agreed to take ownership of, but I can't find that article now.longhornbaseball wrote:The PD article says Stillman's bid on Monday was believed to be around his original offer of $110 million. But 110 + 18 +30 = 158m, which is much closer to 180m.
It seems like the Blues were not a solid long-term investment with the economy the way it's been and what not. So if towerwhatever and Checketts is expecting to get more than what they owe on their bank note, they're likely in for a rude awakening.
