The league is taking over the Hornets, and no one's going to the games in NO. I wonder if they'll move. Seattle is a great market for a team. How great would it be to see Seattle knocking off OKC in the playoffs?
I'll answer for you: very great. If you thought that LeBron returning to Cleveland was fun, imagine Clay going to Seattle for a game (though he doesn't have to show up).
However, Stern is prideful, terrible man. So I imagine Key Arena won't be acceptable even if the Hornets end up playing at UNLV for a while. Actually, do they have a court in LV? Where was the All-Star game played?

Yeah they have a convention center that would work. I think he'd let them play in the Key as long as construction for a new stadium was approved.

Too big, too strong, too fast .... too good.
What is with the non-fouls though? I thought the refs were going to take that game right away from them before Rose took it into his own hands. (D Rose just hit a half court shot)
So what's the best game this year? I would go 1) Rockets 2) Suns 3) Mavs.
btw - I didn't realize Boozer was this good. I mean I know he hasn't hit his stride yet, but man is he athletic. He would have been a pro-bowl TE in the NFL.

Sam Smith said that the commish said that Seattle and LV both do not have suitable arenas for the NBA.

God damn it.Noah has always, and will always get pushed around like he's on ice skates by strong centers. Lucky for him, there's maybe 3-4 guys like that in the league. Howard's really the only good one.Maclowery wrote:I'm currently concerned with how Noah got his ass kicked in so royally by Howard
These two points are related. Boston is the best defensive team in the league because KG guards the post by himself and the rest of the players are elite at denying perimeter players entry into the lane. To beat them, you have to have three point shooters and perimeter jump shooters. Rondo is probably the best man defender in the league and without someone like Deng or Korver knocking down perimeter jumpers, he's going to force Derrick into over dribbling and taking bad shots.Maclowery wrote: Rose looking very listless against Rondo.
ps, Deng had his 5th 5-for-13 shooting night of the year. Weird.
These are two superior teams and beat us the way they beat most teams. We need a shooting guard that can catch and shoot 3's, handle the ball and doesn't demand a lot of the ball. Jason Richardson or OJ Mayo would be fantastic additions to the team and help us get over on these superior teams.
The bigger issue in the Boston and Magic games was the first quarter defense. Giving up huge early leads allows the opponent to manage their star's minutes, dictate the pace of the game and force the Bulls into expending huge energy on defense. This is still a new system for these guys and after two years of no coaching, they are going to have their struggles on defense. It's still a work in progress and I still believe we are the third best team in the East, behind not-coincidentally, the two teams we just lost to.
I just read this again ... so you think Bulls > Heat?
This is an easy team to root for, I'll tell you that. Noah plays his ass off, Rose is one of favorite three athletes in sports. Lots of effort night after night and some talent.

I think they're the 3rd best team in the east right now. They're a matchup nightmare for the Heat. The heat suck vs teams with good big men and good point guards. The Bulls are great in both those areas.
Boozer's feet are so good. He's so quick in the post. He's looking great.

Las Vegas doesn't have an NBA caliber arena, but there are already plans to build one and it would be fast tracked if they were ever awarded a team. Kansas City is a possibility. I also read speculation about a second Chicago team, which would be odd.

They should contract before they came to Chicago again. The Bulls have the market thoroughly cornered.

There is a rumor wafting around here that the league would move them to the Chicago burbs where they would play at AllState Arena, which hosts Chicago Wolves hockey and DePaul basketball.MrSaigon wrote:The league is taking over the Hornets, and no one's going to the games in NO. I would not mind having another NBA team here just to generate some more grist for local sports talk. It would be interesting to see if an urban/suburban rivalry developed between Bulls fans and Schaumburg Hornet fans.
