As heyzeus sr. often told me, "want in one hand, poop in the other, see which fills up first."

MLB has strong interest in moving the draft to Omaha and holding a game there before the College World Series.

If the contract is equal, who do you prefer: Lynn or Cobb?

Cobb. I want to see where he is another year removed from surgery, and I think he could still get that split-change back. I think he has more upside where Lynn is what he is and outperformed his true skillset last year

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I like STL's position. Glove-first C to replace Molina, youth in the infield, Weaver/Reyes/Flaherty and a bullpen full of fire... They're not Astros good, but they're young and talented.

Cards are in pretty good long-term shape, I think. But perhaps not looking like a super team

Who says no? Cardinals trade: Flaherty, Bader, Kelly, and Hudson. Rays trade Archer.

Cards? But I'd love Archer on the Cards

Reds have gotta be one of the highest variance teams coming into the year, right? The young pitching has a huge range of outcomes, plus some underperforming young position players like Peraza could take the next step (or continue to royally suck)

Reds are becoming much more interesting which is good
NL Central is trending up

It is not. Teams are flush with cash. The Cardinals included.

Very few teams actually have the ability financially to afford the big players (Harper, Machado) in next years free agent class. I would put the Cardinals in the cannot afford group. Is that an accurate read?

The outspoken Gossage blasted Cashman in an expletive-laced rant to the New York Daily News, saying he isn't "a big fan" of the longtime Yankees general manager and calling him a "f---ing a--h---."
"Well, with power, is that what happens to you, you turn into a f---ing a--h---," Gossage told the Daily News. "Is that it? I don't know."

The A's payroll is lower than it was in 2004. It's at 59 million. The BAMTech money they got covers 85 percent of their payroll.
