Re: The Video Game Thread
the campaign is kinda interesting. You alternate between these kinda slower, almost noir detective themed levels with "The Rookie" and the big Halo action levels that are flashbacks. I think a lot of people will be put off by the Rookie sections, though they still have combat (I actually had some pretty intense combat last night on it).

I love the NHL series, but I don't think there's enough in '10 to get me to buy it when '09 is awesome already

Does NHL 09 do roster updates, or is that how they get you to buy the next season's game?cards2468 wrote:I love the NHL series, but I don't think there's enough in '10 to get me to buy it when '09 is awesome already

*official* roster updates are usually done up until about 2 months before the release of the next game then they cease.TheoSqua wrote:Does NHL 09 do roster updates, or is that how they get you to buy the next season's game?cards2468 wrote:I love the NHL series, but I don't think there's enough in '10 to get me to buy it when '09 is awesome already

Re: The Video Game Thread
finished Halo over the weekend. I actually liked the campaign a lot. Looking forward to working back through it with co op. And I played a little Firefight and it's pretty fun, too.
Started Batman and it looks really, really good so far.

Re: The Video Game Thread
batman is amazing, imo
i'm borrowing "xmen origins: wolverine" from a friend (and he's borrowing my batman)...it's a fun game and it's really freakin' violent...even moreso than the movie
tomorrow there is a new DLC for Left 4 Dead, called crash course...it's a new campaign, but it's mostly geared for VS play...it costs some MS points, like 560 or some random amount...it has 10 new achievements to go with it (which is why it costs)...should be fun and help extend that game before L4d2 comes out in the fall...

Right now I'm playing Uncharted 1 for the PS3. It's a pretty good game. It's a third person shooter with some platforming and puzzle solving. The gameplay doesn't excel in any area, but everything is solid. The graphics, cut scenes and atmosphere are all excellent. I haven't finished it, but I'd rate it around an 8.5. It's well worth the 30 dollar budget price.

Michael, I gamefly'd that several months ago. My roommate and I alternated, we had lots of fun with the cover-based shooting, and the clever-ish jumping stuff. Plot wasnt bad, and graphics were just superb. Then suddenly there were zombies, and we thought it was stupid, and we never beat it.
The second one is almost done, I think it's Tibetian-themed, at least the level I saw was icy.
I'm currently re-playing through Mario Galaxy.

Good to hear, I want to play that game before Uncharted 2 which is getting rave reviews.Michael wrote:Right now I'm playing Uncharted 1 for the PS3. It's a pretty good game. Re: The Video Game Thread
holy [expletive], Batman just screwed me over with a corrupt save. I was something like 75% through with the game. I'm super pissed right now and don't want to play back through it even though I really was enjoying it.
