See previous posts. Scoring was the biggest problem last year.

Agreed. I keep going back and forth between thinking the Blues have good solid depth, and wanting just one more scoring line winger. I guess there is a good chance someone, be it Perron or a kid, can score 50 points.MrCrowesGarden wrote:See previous posts. Scoring was the biggest problem last year.

Looks like the Blues will sign Maroon. No details as to financial terms. I like it if its $2m/y or less.

They’ll have to move salary regardless. I’m guessing you can dump Bortuzzo or Gunnarsson.JCShutout wrote:Someone on LGB posted this: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1568389

Maroon as our best offseason acquisition would’ve been meh. As our 3rd or 4th best, it’s excellent.

I agree, as long as the dollars make sense. (puns!) If they give him something crazy like 3 or 4 years at 3 or 3.5m per, it won't end up well.MrCrowesGarden wrote:They’ll have to move salary regardless. They should dump one of Bortuzzo/Gunnarson anyways. Dunn is ready to start. Someone might take a flyer on one of those guys for a mid round pick.

I think Dunn is starting regardless. It’s more a matter of who takes that 7th D-man role.

Haven't seen anything else about Maroon.
Anyone have any thoughts on what it will take to keep Edmundson? I see a guy who produces more than the scoresheet shows, but if you always pay those guys, then you have a team full of character guys missing the playoffs because your team doesn't score. I see a 2.5m/y ish player. Maybe 3 if you think he's a guy who sets a good example for the kids. (I'm honestly more at 2, but I know that's not how it works) I'm pretty terrible at valuing players though, so he'll probably get something like 4-5m/y. I'd love to see 4/10 or even 4/12.
What do you all think he's worth and/or will get?

No clue on years but I think 4 million a season is probably close.

man, DA has just knocked it out of the park this offseason...
Patrick Maroon has reportedly finalized a contract with the St. Louis Blues.
It's not official yet, but Maroon's signing might be announced as early as Monday. The contract will reportedly be a one-year deal worth $1.7 million. That would be a pretty nice deal for St. Louis after Maroon recorded a little over 40 points in each of his last two seasons. He's from St. Louis, so this would be a homecoming for him.
