Yeah, you aren't going to beat anyone shooting this poorly. Texas' defense is good, but not that good. Thank god they can't hit any free throws or this would be ugly.

I missed all but the tail end of this game, but can someone explain to me how Mizzou got outshot 43 to 16 at the free throw line. Was it a terribly reffed game or were the Mizzou guys just hacking and getting called for it?

For some irrational reason, I also hate Keiton Page.

This season is not setting up the way I'd hoped.

Only elite teams win on the road, and this isn't an elite team. Beat Kansas at home and make a decent run as a four or five seed in March. That would be a good year.

Mizzou shot poorly again and OK St did a good job of handling the pressure. Mizzou didn't really play well and make it close until the last 5 minutes. Every time OSU broke the pressure they attacked the basket and got fouled. Some of it was legit, but after a while the refs just blew the whistle even with little or no contact. We didn't play well, but the FTs were the difference and killed any chance of Mizzou getting in a rhythm.

Mizzou has a +6 free throw margin in 3 conference home games. They now have a -64 free throw margin in 4 conference road games. They lost close games in Stillwater and College Station where the opponent got an extra set of free throws every media timeout. I thought this sort of crap was more limited to soccer.

Tough 4 game stretch to end the regular season with Baylor, @KState, @Neb and KU. Looking pretty good against Baylor tonight so far. I'd be ok with 2-2, 3-1 and would be great.

I'm not sure how much is attributable to Baylor having a really bad night and how much of that was Mizzou forcing the issue, but this felt like their best game all year. If they play like this over the next three games, 2-1 is very attainable. Unfortunately, there's the whole home/road split to deal with in two of those games.

Baylor is kind of prone to laying turds like that. They have at least two NBA players and all the talent and athleticism you can ask for, but not much in the way of fundamentals and leadership. Losing Tweety Carter to graduation last year has a lot to do with that.

That said, Mizzou did play one of its best games of the year. Baylor was totally unprepared to play that style. Ratliffe looked like a legit big man on both ends, Bowers was awesome and English played really well for a change. And they did an excellent job of closing out the game to my liking. Working 20+ seconds off the clock every possession the last 8 minutes to eliminate any chance of a comeback. I would have lost it if Pressey could have finished that dunk. He probably would have too if it weren't for the cast on his hand.
