Crazy thought: they don’t have to trade all their good players. They’re winning and their active payroll is the equivalent of what can be found in Dewitt’s couch cushions. They can … try to win? I know that stopped being the point somewhere along the way.

We're rebuilding, bro aka owners are justified to spend the least amount possible and forego any attempts at winning.

It's not wasting money to keep Romero and Noot, add some legit pitching, and give the fans something to watch. None of that hinders development.

That depends on how you value guys like Matthews, Doyle, etc, and what kind of contracts you'd need to give to whatever Legit Pitching Guy(s) you can find.

I don't understand why people are saying this is a difficult choice. He has a .566 OPS in 800 plate appearances.
If only he hadn't been distracted by his Special Projects, I feel like Girsch would have noticed this right away and made the move sooner.

I’m confident in saying the Cardinals’ most pressing issue over the next two seasons won’t be having too many good players and not enough spots to use them.

The interesting part of this whole thing to me is not that Scott wasn't the obvious choice to go down with Church returning; but that this is a clear departure from the way Mo handled these kinds of roster decisions.

Absolutely. Torres would have been sent down and Victor would continue playing if Mo was around.

Torres wouldn’t be on the 40 man if Mozeliak was in charge.
