I think he should just get run out there all season since this is a WDGAF year anyway. Let him redeem himself or put the final nail in the coffin. You're not getting anything on the trade block for him and I don't really see where he is blocking anyone. Let's see what happens at the end of the season. If you are ready to compete next season, DFA him or trade him for a 500th round draft pick.

I wouldn't call Rasmus a failure as a Cardinal. He's more of a victim of very high expectations by media/fans. After all, his OPS as a Cardinal was .777 as a center fielder, he was actually a capable player for us, and brought a good return in the trade.

Rasmus's problem was partly that we expected him to be Jim Edmonds 2.0, partly that his nonchalance was interpreted as dogging it (which didn't help things when he wasn't Jim Edmonds 2.0), and partly because of his meddlesome father acting like he knew more than the coaching staff.

Send him to AAA. He had a good initial run in the majors. Then he got exposed and must have got in his own head. The coaching staff threw him under the bus in the media about him needing to do the work and accept their coaching. That's pretty wild to say about a top prospect, even for Oli. It's gotta be a little bit true.

I'm curious what happens with Velazquez, who had a similar story as Walker. We're basically seeing Walker's future after a change of scenery trade in a couple years. Let Church cover for Noot and Velazquez take over in RF.

He is still just guessing at the plate. 15 Ks, 2 walks, 6 singles in 39 at bats shows that he still doesn't have a clue out there. Really sad to see how exposed he has been and how his development has completely cratered. Vasquez has hit enough to make the team as a right handed OF bat. Walker needs to hit at AAA or AA or anywhere before get gets brought back up to the majors.

The Cardinals should have given themselves some alternatives. That’s the failure of this off-season. Losing 90 games is less useful when all you did was piss away at-bats with guys who were never going to be part of the future anyway.

What are the Cardinals expecting Jordan Walker to figure out this season that he didn't figure out in the last two?

I think the chance of us already having seen his best season in the bigs is greater than it being yet to come, honestly.

How to hit the baseball more often.

Optional: hit it farther.
