Cool thought. Thanks for posting. I'll play devils advocate at first.GeddyWrox wrote: ↑February 8 22, 10:19 am"Expert"
I post this, not because I believe it, but just for the interest/entertainment value of it.

A new theory proposed by Dr. Ellis Silver states that there are several tell-tale signs present in the human race that suggest human beings did not evolve ALONGSIDE other lifeforms on Earth.
The book called ‘Humans are not from Earth: a scientific evaluation of the evidence’ is basically a resume of theories for and mostly against man’s evolution on Earth. In the book, leading environmentalist and ecologist Dr. Ellis Silver goes through an evaluation of thirteen leading hypothesis and seventeen factors which suggest HUMANS ARE NOT FROM EARTH.
Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth’s environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more said Dr. Ellis in an interview.
According to Dr. Ellis, humans might suffer from back pain because our species initially evolved on another planet with a lower gravity, adding to the mysteries, Dr. Ellis also indicates that it is strange that newborns have large heads and make it difficult for mothers to give birth, which can result in fatalities for both mother and child.
So where do we come from? According to Dr. Ellis, Neanderthals were most likely crossbred with another species, perhaps from the star system Alpha Centauri –which is one of the closest solar systems to Earth— in the distant past, giving birth to modern humans.
According to Dr. Ellis, there are millions of people around the globe who ‘feel’ that they do not belong on Earth.
Dr. Ellis explains: “This suggests (to me at least) that mankind may have evolved on a different planet, and we may have been brought here as a highly developed species. One reason for this … is that the Earth might be a prison planet since we seem to be a naturally violent species and we’re here until we learn to behave ourselves.”
Dr. Ellis concludes that mankind did not evolve from that particular strain of life, but evolved elsewhere and was transported to Earth (as fully evolved Homo sapiens) between 60,000 and 200,000 years ago.
Furthermore, as noted by Robert Sepher, according to modern DNA sequencing, it is demonstrated that humanity as we know it, isn’t just ONE single ‘race’ that descended from the same ancestor in Africa, but a hybridized species, with a far more enigmatic truth behind it all.
One thing that jumps out is his timeline doesn't make sense: humans' backs hurt (not from getting fat because of diet/lack of need to exercise) but because we originated on a different planet. But, we also are a result of crossbreeding neanderthals with a different species? Or our ancestral species originated on another planet and then was crossbred with neanderthals? Even if the later is the case, wouldn't all this stuff have sorted itself out over the couple millions of years of natural evolution?
Regarding challenges the human race faces, of course there are some which can be said for any species on earth, and all those that remain have adapted to their environments quite well. Humans, possibly, adapted via inventions to make life more tolerable. Like wearing clothes/skins to protect against the sun/cold.
A lot of chronic disease we see now fits in with the strong dislike for naturally occuring foods (possibly) and has more do with the mass production of readily available unhealthy if not delicious food. Combined with a lack of need to exercise due to the availability of food, which has only happened in the last couple hundred years or so, it's easy to see why we currently have a lot of obesity, dislike of salads, and chronic disease. Plus we've polluted the air we breathe to a point it's not negligible in our health over our, somewhat elongated lifetimes. All of which, in summation, explains away much of his evidence.
Now...all that said, the path humans took to get where we are is so unlikely that a trillion years ago if asked what the probabilities were that we would be in this situation would have been about precisely zero without some form of external intervention. The most unlikely event being the formation of life in the first place. How that happened always just gets glossed over, but the odds are infinitesimally small.

LOL, yeah, the back pain thing made me roll my eyes too. My poor dog has some form of arthritis. My vet said it could be hurting her hips or her back, most likely. If it is indeed her back, does that mean she's part alien too???

I think dogs and cats invented humans so they could spend all day sleeping and licking themselves.

Another thought, if humans are on earth because its a prison planet, so to speak, how did we get here? If we are an ancestral species crossbred with neanderthals, wouldn't it have been the ancestral species that belongs on the prison planet, not humans? And, if humans didn't evolve and are indeed being punished on the prison plaent, how does he explain away all the contradictory evidence pointing to human evolution (that I know very little about aside from some very quick research I did years ago)?

The goofy part for me with aliens is that we put all attention on deep space. We have only mapped like 10% of our ocean floor. Who is to say there isn't an "Abyss" scenario happening under our trash island in the ocean?
A lot of UFO sightings are ships going directly into the ocean. Just sayin.

The computer simulation theory might be the only thing that could explain the results of the ‘68, ‘85 and ‘04 World Series.

These are questions I love to ponder. I love stargazing and I love just looking up and wondering where/if it ends and what's past that. It's also like pondering the existence of god or in your example the person running the simulator. Well who created that guy? If I think about it to hard I actually start to get some anxiety when I realize how much of a nothing I am. At the same time it's a little freeing as well.GeddyWrox wrote: ↑February 8 22, 11:15 amI love pondering things like this as well. I also am highly interested in a relatively recent hypothesis that our entire existence is nothing but a computer simulation. That one, as mind bending as it is, could actually be legit. But then that question begs, what's running that computer sim???TGantz wrote: ↑February 8 22, 10:29 amI LOVE these conversations. Obviously, nobody knows ANYTHING about this stuff for real so let's keep it goofy and light. It's a thread about all of us being aliens!
I have always thought there was a possibility that humans are basically a science experiment. A super advanced alien race started mixing different DNA and trying things out with a mixture of neanderthals and homosapiens. The differences in people around the world with facial characteristics, pigmentation, personalities, diseases, etc. (I know, evolution and culture account for a lot of it, but aliens).
Humans had a huge jump in capabilities in a relatively short amount of time in terms of evolution.
The alien interactions we hear about like abductions are just the aliens studying their results. Sightings of UFO's are their recon drones.
If we want to go down some alien rabbit holes, look to the ocean.
I also like to think about things like: If the universe is finite, that means it has boundaries. And if it has boundaries, what the HELL is on the other side of that boundary???
After my late gf died I bought a cabin on the river. I had actually intended to move there permanently. I'm glad I didn't because I'm pretty sure I'd be that weird hermit guy living in the cabin on the river, but it was also the best purchase I've ever made. Being down there is so peaceful and I can wet a line from the deck and fish my heart out. My wife and I go there every weekend in the warmer months and I'd say once a month this time of year. My point I guess is if you ever have a chance to get a place out in the woods to go and get away I highly recommend it.TGantz wrote: ↑February 8 22, 12:30 pmSo Geddy, if we go along with that theory...
I am someone who enjoys hunting, fishing, and mostly physical things. I long for simpler times and feel called to live in a cabin in the woods. I am happy when I am in nature.
I have never once felt like I didn't belong on Earth. Is that because I have more neanderthal DNA than all you other aliens?
