That Tiger Woods article is just sad. The candid Michael Jordan quotes are amazing.

Didn't even open the link but I've never been a fan of zoos probably because of what that article says. Even from the time I was a kid it seemed weird and bothered me.

I'll summarize it:
[SHOW]
It talks a lot about the Bronx Zoo when it was founded. The Bronx Zoo way back in the day had a pygmy in one of their exhibits. A pygmy is a human being. The basic gist of the article is that this culture of separating things out extends beyond the zoo fences and into our whole country, and applies to humans as well as animals. We have gated communities, we leave certain neighborhoods to certain ethnic groups, we imprison people, we want to build walls on our borders and on and on and on. Everyone has their place and should be kept there so they can be controlled and observed, to make sure they don't do anything crazy.

Really cool interactive map and articles about NYC buildings over 800 feet and the people who live there.

This is a 7 part series(each of them a long form article alone) about Paul Le Roux, a South African programmer turned drug lord/arms dealer: https://mastermind.atavist.com/

This is a real long read on a 2008 heist in Copenhagen and the ensuing investigation: https://blendle.com/i/the-atavist-magaz ... enhagenjob

(apologies if that link is behind a paywall, hopefully it offers you the chance to sign up for Blendle, which is a neat concept and also lets you read the piece for free)

This isn't the best long read in this thread, but it's kind of fun. It's about a Chinese billionaire trying to make a Hollywood style big budget blockbuster. It's a complete fiasco and the film still hasn't been released. Here's the link: https://read.atavist.com/sunk

Here's the awful trailer:

The Unbelievable Tale of Jesus’s Wife

It starts out kind of boring but takes some crazy twists and turns once you get into it a ways. The title is misleading. It's not really an investigation into whether Jesus had a wife. It's the reporter's story about him trying to prove the provenance of an ancient Egyptian papyrus that makes it seem like Jesus had a wife.
