Annual Toledo game is all about Ol' Gare - every now and then he needs an ego boost.

Gosh Mizzou's defense has been 'bendy' today. I wouldn't be surprised if the total yards at half weren't in the same ballpark. A few plays by Golden really skew this game in Mizzou's favor. 1 interception and no points after a what 70 yard drive. Yeah.

That throw by Mauk that Moore? dropped was amazing.

I'm a little disappointed with how the middle of the line and the linebackers have played today, but thankfully it hasn't cost them.

Going in at the half up by 21 against this team, on the road, is a pretty damn good outcome.

They mentioned that Pinkel was the all time wins leader at Toledo and Mizzou and mentioned there was one other FBS coach that was the career wins leader at two FBS schools. Did they ever say who it was? My guess was Spurrier, but I am too lazy to look it up. Did they ever say?

I didn't see the answer, but it is indeed Spurrier.

Yeah, can't argue with the outcome, but....toledo has found some holes to throw to in that 10-20 yard range (despite missing a few open guys) and have broken a couple decent sized runs.

Just calculating from a spreadsheet I found online, he has 122 wins at Florida and 77 at SC. He averaged more than 10 wins a year for 12 years at florida. That is insane.

Ely's having a horrible game and I'm not sure how much of that I'd attribute to the Mizzou defense. The pressure has been a factor, but not the only one.

On the flip side, I could see giving credit where it's due with the run defense. They've looked bad but Toledo's got an experienced/good line and some good backs. It's the strength of their squad, IMO.

Yep. Those UF teams in the 90s were great. They get overshadowed a little by Nebraska's mini-dynasty.

I know he can be a real dickwad, but I like Spurrier a lot, even if I do hate Carolina. He wins, he has fun, and he makes the game a lot more entertaining all the way around.
