Re: United Airlines, I hate you deeply.
These stories are not making me hopeful of getting a refund.
Funny thing is, I had become kind of sick of American because their international service is just so crap, and since United is based out of Chicago and I'd had a couple of good experiences flying them domestically I was thinking I'd shift my airline loyalties.
But after this I will never do business with them again.
The rep on the phone, after all this, asked me if I wanted to upgrade to economy plus for $119. Are you [expletive] kidding me?

I'm prepared to go full Michael on their Facebook page. First I'll send their "customer relations" a letter which you can only do via email or in a letter, ha, and if that doesn't resolve it to my satisfaction I'm blowing their Facebook page up.docellis wrote:Have you told this story to their facebook page?

I would send them an actual "snail mail" letter. Send it certified so you have proof of receipt. Save it and copy it to their FB page if you do not get satisfaction.G. Ironically, many years ago, hubby and I received free airfare from United to anywhere in the continental US because we voluntarily gave up our seats on an overbooked flight to Chicago. We missed the Friday game vs. the Cubs but got to fly to Seattle free of charge!

Thanks man. I have a feeling I'll be needing your services. I don't think they're going to give me a grand back without a fight.thrill wrote:Geen, if you need help, I'll spam the crap out of their twitter feed for you.

My wife & I have had a bad experience w/ united as well (and won't ever fly them again). We traveled to the Virgin Islands & they somehow lost our luggage for 4 days out of a 7 day trip. Obviously, not quite as bad as your experience but had similar issues with the desk staff in the VI (as in no one was EVER there). They had no clue how to track down our luggage, and when I did call customer service & they could track it & it was making a tour of the U.S. The best part was we couldn't even get them to call us when our luggage showed up, their suggestion was to drive to the airport everyday to see if it had come in on a flight.
Oh yeah, we wrote a letter & were never compensated a dime. [expletive] you United Airlines.

How sad is it that in today's society our best method for publicly venting and getting the most viewers possible is to [expletive] at the company on their Facebook page?Michael wrote:This calls for a facebook meltdown. No question.
For the record, I completely agree with everyone on here that it needs to be done. I hate United for the reasons I stated above, and will never ever fly with them on my own dime. I happily pay extra to fly Delta/Northwest.
I think think it's sad that this is the society we're in now - if a big company pisses you off, your best way at getting the situation resolved expeditiously is to chew their ass out on Facebook where the 25M+ who "like" that company can read about it.
