I feel bad for AD, but I laughed pretty hard. There's like the first 45 seconds where the criminal sizes up the situation and then makes a move. Sorry AD, I'm used to dealing with small and/or stupid dogs.

Yeah, wow. That was impressive. Only thing I could think to do would rebuild the fence into an 8 ft. fence. I think any kind of cap you put on it (that looked decent) would just make it easier for the dog to get on top.

Actually, here's what you could do -- put a couple strands of fence wire horizontal out from the fence. Then, when the dog tries to jump, he won't be able to reach the top of the fence. He'll hit his head on the wire. Won't hurt him, and should stop him. I've seen similar things at zoos to stop animals from jumping out (and humans from jumping in). You might be able to just try the wire at the gate since that's where he wants to jump over and you might be able to take it down after a couple months or a year once he learns that he can't jump over anymore.

You may want to check with your local building dept first. Many municipalities require any privacy fence taller than 6 feet to be designed by an architect/engineer. The reason is that those things can catch a lot of wind and in a storm can fall apart and do damage if not built properly.
