Re: GRB Fantasy Football 2008
Alright. I've set up the league. It's through ESPN Fantasy Football, so if you don't already have a username for their fantasy sports, you'll need to sign up for one. Right now the league is private, so PM me with the email address you will want to use and I will send an invite.
Right now there are two divisions of six teams, where the top three teams from each division make the playoffs. Top finishers in each division will get a first round bye, and I will manually create an unbalanced schedule where you play each team in your division twice (meaning you would miss out on playing a couple GRB members). If you want a balances schedule, let me know.
I'm open to three divisions of 4, or four divisions of 3, but I really think that six teams making the playoffs will keep more of the league interested and in the playoff hunt, while rewarding the top two teams with an automatic trip to the Divisions Championship.
Right now the divisions are named "Central" and "Coastal," so include where you currently reside in the PM and I will work on placing you in the correct division as we get more entrants. If it works out to where six players are from St. Louis, then we can change the divisions around. Or if you have other suggestions for how to name/divide up the divisions, I'm certainly open. The home page isn't all the way set up yet either, but I'm doing the best I can. I look forward to hearing from you all soon!

Here's who has been invited/joined the GRB FF League:
BenNX74205--joined
JCShutout--joined
letsgocards89--invited
TabascoElvis--invited
clevername--invited
Fat Strat--invited
That's six teams so far. Hopefully six more people want get in on the fun. It was a lot of fun last year, so don't hesitate to sign up!
Also, the current roster for starting positions is this:
QB
RB
RB
RB/WR
WR
WR
TE
K
Team DEF
I'm open to alterations. I've played in leagues with 2 RBs and 3 WRs straight up. I've been in leagues with 2 RBs and 2 WRs straight up. I've seen leagues where the flex player can be any offensive position. I'm open for pretty much anything, though I'd prefer to avoid individual defensive players. I tried that a couple times and it was just weird.

Re: GRB Fantasy Football 2008
This is my first time on ESPN; how do we change our team name? I'm Team 5 currently it appears.
Also, there are players listed under the teams but we're listed in pre-draft. I assume all the players will just go into the draft pool when the draft's ready but I don't understand why there are players listed under teams to begin with?
edit: ok, those are the rosters from last year. My team from last year is under team 8. Are we doing this as a keeper and I need to get reassigned to that team or will the rosters just clear and it doesn't matter which team number we get?

Yeah.......when we were on Yahoo last season JC and I tried to control our own doppleganger GRB league to use the free live scoring. ESPN wouldn't let me create a new league, so i just reactivated this one to turn into the GRB league. It's not going to be a keeper league--I will put all the players back in the draft pool manually.clevername wrote:This is my first time on ESPN; how do we change our team name? I don't think we're going to end up with the same 12 teams this season, so we'll draft with a new randomized order. In the future, we will be able to have the same owners year to year, or trade owners in and out. As such, we'll be able to draft based on how our teams finished last season, or use random drafting each year.
Any other questions/input? I want to get the league working as well as possible.

Is there a reason I am/was not invited? My ESPN Fantasy name is the same as here.
